Vehicle Occupancy Detection Corporation (VODC) announced today that it has appointed Alan Allegretto, Xerox’s former Group President for Transportation, as Executive Advisor to spearhead the growth of its business and corporate development under agreement with his firm, GovScience Partners LLC. VODC is in the final stages of testing of its first production model at Caltrans. Caltrans has stated a need for 4,000 units.

The ability to count people in moving vehicles through automotive glass and differentiate humans from pets, dummies, and photos is a fundamental requirement for the new dynamic pricing lanes which are replacing HOV/HOT lanes. VODC has the only patent-pending technology that can meet all the requirements. Called “the holy grail of detection” by Professor Art MacCarley, chair of Cal Poly’s transportation electronics lab, Vehicle Occupancy Detection Corp.’s technology was featured in Cisco Systems CEO John Chamber’s opening address at Oracle Open World as his example of “the future of computing”.

Alan Allegretto’s professional career spans more than 38 years in the government and private sectors, the bulk of which was directly involved in the development and implementation of technology and infrastructure-based programs. He has directed strategic planning, financial, business development, design, operations and engineering activities at the executive level for a wide range of initiatives, both domestic and international. As a senior corporate officer, his career has focused on businesses that deliver design-build turnkey programs and integrated systems for federal and state governments, military, transportation, aviation and commercial industries worldwide, with individual programs valued at up to $2.5 billion. He has held numerous engineering, program management, business development, strategic leadership and executive positions of increasing responsibility at the Executive Vice President, Chief Operating Officer, and Chief Executive Officer levels in multi-disciplined business environments.

“We are thrilled that Alan will serve as Executive Advisor to our team” said Kenneth Brown, VODC’s founder and CEO. “Alan brings a deep understanding of the industry, invaluable contacts, and is the ideal person to steer the company to the next stage.”
