Challenge Aspen Presents the 2014 Chris Bove Memorial Uphill
Snowmass Village, Colorado (PRWEB) February 14, 2014 -- Challenge Aspen is excited to announce the 2014 Chris Bove Memorial Uphill on Saturday, February 22, 2014. We are thrilled that Snowmass Mountain will host the Uphill for the first time in the events history. It will begin at Base Village and summit at Elk Camp Grill highlighting Aspen Ski Companies beautiful new restaurant.
This event honors the memory of Chris Bove a supporter of Challenge Aspen and former instructor who passed away on the eve of the event in 2007. The event raises money for a scholarship in Bove's name so that a local participant has the opportunity to ski for a season.
Outdoor enthusiasts of all ages and ability levels are encouraged to tackle the 1,368-vertical-gain up Snowmass Mountain. Anything goes for the race: snowshoes, stabilizers or telemark skis. All participants are invited to the post-race celebration at Elk Camp for a pancake breakfast & prize giveaways. Sign up costs include the uphill & pancake breakfast. Pre-registration is $40 and is available here or at the Ute Mountaineer through February 20, 2014. Same-day registration is $45 and begins at Base Village at 6:45 on race day.
