Small ship cruise line Un-Cruise Adventures has launched a sweepstakes contest on their Facebook page this week with a prize of an Alaska cruise for two aboard the 88-guest Legacy. The Alaska’s Golden History cruise visits ports in Southeast Alaska and is valued at $11,990.

Entries are accepted on the company’s Facebook page at facebook.com/InnerSeaDiscoveries on the Win an Alaska Cruise! tab. Contestants must live in the United States and be age 21+ to enter. Only one entry per person is allowed. The sweepstakes runs through March 28, 2014, and a winner will be drawn at random on March 31, 2014. The winner will travel aboard the S.S. Legacy on a weeklong cruise in summer 2014.

The 88-guest S.S. Legacy, a replica coastal steamer, focuses on living history with crew in period costume and sails port-to-port with shoreside tours included such as Skagway’s famed White Pass & Yukon Route Railroad.

“The S.S. Legacy begins sailing a new weeklong cruise in Alaska this summer,” said Tim Jacox, executive vice president of sales and marketing. “Wrapping the history of the Klondike Gold Rush together with the scenic beauty, abundant wildlife and included tours in port makes this cruise unlike any other offered in Alaska.”

Weeklong Alaska’s Golden History cruises sail between Ketchikan and Juneau, Alaska (and reverse). History comes alive through presentations and skits on board and included tours to points of historical interest. Ports visited include Wrangell, Petersburg, Sitka, Haines and Skagway. Whales, wildlife and wilderness are highlighted on a full day spent inside Glacier Bay National Park along with a day’s exploration in Icy Strait and Chichagof Island.

The Alaska cruise includes one view stateroom for two people for travel between June-August 2014. All meals, wine/beer/premium spirits, a massage, shoreside tours, historical reenactments, yoga on deck, transfers and port fees/taxes are included.
