Rutgers Students Sign Leases at Rockoff Hall As an Alternative to the Housing Lottery
New Brunswick, NJ (PRWEB) February 14, 2014 -- Rockoff Hall, a newly independent student housing community at Rutgers, announced today that it is more than 50 percent pre-leased for Fall 2014, with an influx in new leases following the recent announcement of the Rutgers’ student housing lottery numbers.
All students who wish to live in Rutgers’ housing on the New Brunswick campus were required to apply for a lottery number between Monday, Jan. 21st and Tuesday, Jan. 29th 2014, and the lottery number results were announced on Jan. 29th, giving students their ‘rank’ for choosing student housing options. Rockoff Hall was an exception to this process for the first time ever.
“We were nearly 50 percent pre-leased before lottery numbers were announced, and we’ve been extremely busy since then meeting with potential new residents and showing them around Rockoff Hall,” said David Strassberg, property manager for Rockoff Hall. “We are anticipating that the remaining apartments will be reserved very quickly based on the demand and interest we’re seeing walk through the door.”
Formerly a student housing community exclusively occupied by Rutgers, Rockoff Hall is now being privately leased to residents as an independent student housing community, allowing students to avoid the stressful housing lottery process altogether. Rockoff Hall continues to be an alternative housing option for Rutgers students who are not happy with the lottery seniority, their housing options, or who simply want to experience true student housing.
The 674-bed community features an all-inclusive model, meaning that each student’s rent includes all furniture, security, and all utilities such as cable and Internet. Residents also have unlimited access to Rockoff Hall’s on-site amenities, including the private fitness center, business center with free printing and computer access, common areas for studying, and TV lounges.
Rockoff Hall is currently undergoing renovations to provide residents with a new and improved community before the 2014-2015 school year including, installation of dishwashers in every apartment, fitness center upgrades and the addition of a high-end lounge solely for residents of Rockoff.
Residents can choose from a variety of floorplans, including a one-bedroom, one-bathroom apartment (two person occupancy); a two-bedroom, two-bathroom apartment (four person occupancy); or a three-bedroom, one-bathroom apartment (three person occupancy).
