In 2003, Ryan Tedder and Zach Filkins formed OneRepublic and while it hasn’t always been easy for the group from Colorado Springs, Colorado, they have gone on to become one of the most popular acts in the United States. The group announced their Summer 2014 tour following the release of their 2013 album, Native, and didn’t expect the tickets to sell out as quickly as they did, which prompted the group to extend their tour, adding 27 more dates.

The group broke out in a big way in 2007 with what has been their most popular single of their career, “Apologize.” The group has been putting out popular singles ever since, but have struggled to reach the same audience as they did with their debut. Among their popular songs include “Stop and Stare,” “All the Right Moves,” “Good Life,” and “Counting Stars,” a single that was released in June 2013 and still remains in the top 10 on the singles charts and on radio countdown shows around the world. That single was their third release off their third album and has been certified platinum three times by the Recording Industry Association of America for selling more than a million copies.
When you look at the album sales for OneRepublic, they don’t compare to those of other popular groups on the radio today, but they have still been successful. Their debut album was Dreaming out Loud, which is still their most popular and only platinum record to date. In 2009, the released Waking Up, which was certified gold by the RIAA for selling more than 500,000 copies and then released Native last year, another gold record.
Their 2014 summer tour will take the group to many of the most popular amphitheatres, festivals and stadiums across the United States beginning on May 28 with two shows at the Red Rocks Amphitheatre in Denver, CO and concluding on August 28th at the BOK Center in Tulsa, OK. In between, the group will travel to the Hollywood Bowl in Los Angeles, CA, Ravinia Festival in Chicago, IL, First Niagara Pavilion in Pittsburgh, PA, PNC Music Pavilion in Charlotte, NC, and the Freeman Coliseum in San Antonio, TX.
The group will play all of their chart topping hits on this tour and has already stated they will mix in a few new songs that will be on their fourth studio album in the future to mix things up. “We'll probably introduce a song or two from stuff we're working on for the next album,” Tedder said.
OneRepublic is one of the most loved groups in the country right now and tickets for the new additions to the tour will sell out quickly if their first dates are any indication. Fans will want to see the group that has won numerous awards including “Best International Hit” for “Apologize” and “Band of the Year.” The group will look to ride the success of “Counting Stars” into an even bigger career than they could have ever envisioned.
