Jackson O’Keefe, LLP, will be moving its main office from Hartford to suburban Wethersfield on March 3, 2014. Managing partner Peter K. O’Keefe, a current and lifelong Wethersfield resident, reports that the firm believes the move will allow it to better serve its clients, many of whom want to avoid commuting into Hartford. “From a lawyer’s perspective, our Hartford office was convenient to all of the major court houses, but clients don’t want to make that drive, and we put our clients’ expectations first.”
The firm has deep roots in the Connecticut legal, political and business communities and a long tradition of vigorous trial and appellate advocacy on behalf of its clients. Since the 1950s a majority of the firm’s practice had been in the insurance defense field, working on behalf of the insureds of major insurance companies. The firm was co-founded by Jay W. Jackson, a former Insurance Commissioner for the State of Connecticut. Andrew J. O’Keefe, the other founding partner, lived in Wethersfield for many years and has served as a preeminent trial litigator, while also serving as a general practitioner and appellate litigator. As a part of its history of insurance litigation, the firm has developed a deep knowledge and breadth of experience in car accident law, other bodily injury claims and wrongful death actions.
Over the years, the firm’s general practice has grown to a larger role in the firm. With these changes, fewer clients now live in Hartford, with most hailing from the surrounding suburbs. “We are excited about the move, and we are looking forward to expanding our client base. The new location will allow us to provide exceptional legal services to suburban clients,” said partner Philip R. Dunn.
The firm offers a full range of legal services to individuals and business entities with diverse interests and objectives and takes pride in its reputation for providing cost-effective representation of the highest caliber. Our goal is to assist clients in finding practical and appropriate solutions to the situations they face, in a timely and responsive manner. Divorce, child custody, estate planning, real estate transactions, commercial disputes, and personal injury and accident law are just some of the areas in which the firm achieves its clients’ objectives. As partner Joseph M. Busher notes, “In all of our representation, we strive to provide the best result for our clients as efficiently as possible – sometimes that means a team effort and a trial; other times it means a creative or quick resolution. The clients’ priorities are our priorities.” The firm has received the highest Martindale-Hubbell rating of “AV” and is recognized in the Bar Register of Preeminent Attorneys.
The law firm’s other main office is located at 97 North Main Street, in Southington. Partner Matthew J. O’Keefe, who resided in Wethersfield for many years, manages the Southington office.
The new office will be located at 433 Silas Deane Highway, Wethersfield, and will open on March 3, 2014. Our contact phone number will remain (860) 278-4040. Please stop in to meet us or to discuss your legal needs.
