Workplace Options Receives NCQA Certification for Credentialing Program
Raleigh, NC (PRWEB) February 17, 2014 -- Workplace Options, a global employee effectiveness company, announced today that it has received National Committee for Quality Assurance (NCQA) Certification for 10 out of 10 of its verification services for physician credentialing.
Workplace Options is certified under NCQA’s Credentials Verification Organization (CVO) Certification Program. The program certifies Workplace Options verification services for: application processing, education and training, DEA certification, license to practice, CVO application and attestation content, malpractice claims history, Medicare/Medicaid sanctions, ongoing monitoring of sanctions, medical board sanctions and work history.
“Workplace Options has long held our credentialing services to NCQA standards, and with our CVO Certification we continue our commitment to efficient, quality care for the people and companies we serve,” said Alan King, president and chief operating officer of Workplace Options.
NCQA CVO Certification is a quality assessment program that health care organizations can use to assess Credentials Verification Organizations and other organizations that verify the credentials of physicians. The voluntary review process evaluates a CVO’s management of various aspects of its data collection and verification operation, and the process it uses to continuously improve the services it provides.
The certification process includes rigorous on-site evaluations conducted by a team of health care professionals and certified credentialing specialists. A national oversight committee of physicians analyzes the team’s finding and determines certification based on the CVO’s compliance with NCQA standards.
“Achieving CVO certification from NCQA demonstrates that Workplace Options has the systems, process and personnel in place to thoroughly and accurately verify providers' credentials and help health plan clients meet their accreditation goals,” said Margaret E. O’Kane, president of NCQA.
