Parilman & Associates Offers No-Cost Initial Consultation to Consumers Who Believe They Were Allegedly Injured by Testosterone Products
(PRWEB) February 16, 2014 -- The testosterone replacement therapy attorneys at Parilman & Associates have been representing consumers who have allegedly been seriously injured and/or made seriously ill because they used medications that were eventually found to be potentially harmful to those who have used them. Given the recent news regarding the potential risks posed by using prescription-based testosterone therapy products (an independent source describes this risk here), the attorneys at the firm hereby announce that they are offering no-cost initial consultations to anyone in the United States who believes he has been harmed in this manner and who wants to obtain preliminary feedback with regards to a potential legal claim for compensation.
Bloomberg News recently published an article describing these lawsuits, and it was released on February 5, 2014 and it was entitled, “Abbott Labs Sued by Five Men Claiming Androgel Injuries.” A link to the article can be found here. This article was released five days after the Food and Drug Administration, or FDA, announced in a public statement that it was initiating a safety review of prescription-based testosterone replacement therapy products prompted by information that indicated that those who use them face a risk of heart attacks, strokes and death. A link to that announcement by the FDA can be found here. The statement also asked anyone who had suffered adverse effects from using these products to report them to the FDA.
After the release of this statement by the FDA, five individual lawsuits have been filed against AbbVie, Inc., the manufacturer of AndroGel, a popular low testosterone medication. These lawsuits were filed in the United States District Court, Northern District of Illinois. They were assigned the following case numbers: 1:14-cv-00776 (Gallagher v. AbbVie Inc., Abbott Laboratories, Inc.), 1:14-cv-00780 (Meyers v. AbbVie Inc., Abbott Laboratories, Inc.), 1:14-cv-0077 (Benn v. AbbVie Inc., Abbott Laboratories Inc.,) 1:14-cv-00777 (Marino v. AbbVie Inc., Abbott Laboratories, Inc.) and 1:14-cv-00772 (Aurecchia v. AbbVie Inc., Abbott Laboratories, Inc.).
These AndroGel lawsuits all allege that the plaintiffs in these cases used this product for help with low testosterone, commonly known as low-T. Each of these plaintiffs allegedly suffered serious side effects as a result of using this medication. The plaintiffs are all seeking unspecified amounts of damages to compensate them for losses that include medical costs, pain and suffering, the loss of consortium and other forms of financial and non-financial losses.
