Greenberg Traurig Elevates 4 Attorneys to Shareholder and 1 Attorney to Of Counsel in New York City and White Plains Offices
NEW YORK (PRWEB) February 17, 2014 -- The New York City and White Plains offices of international law firm Greenberg Traurig LLP announced the elevation of four attorneys to shareholder and one attorney to of counsel. The new shareholders include Farah Ahmed, Real Estate; Scott Fink, Tax; Kate Kalmykov, Business Immigration & Compliance; and Mark Parmelee, Litigation. The new of counsel is Julie Bookbinder, Intellectual Property & Technology.

Ahmed focuses her practice on commercial real estate finance and investments. She represents owners, investors, borrowers, lenders and developers in various types of transactions, including acquisitions and dispositions, preferred equity, joint ventures, development of mixed-use commercial projects, origination of permanent, bridge and construction financing, mezzanine financing and various restructuring and workout scenarios. Among her various accolades, Ahmed was listed as a 2013 New York Super Lawyers “Super Lawyer,” a 2012 New York Super Lawyers “Rising Star” and was a member of the winning team for the 2013 Chambers USA Award for Excellence in Real Estate. She received her J.D. from Georgetown University Law Center.
Fink specializes in civil and criminal federal and state tax controversies and litigation. He represents corporations, partnerships, estates and individuals before the Internal Revenue Service, and state and local tax authorities in examinations, collection problems, administrative appeals, and in court. Fink is a former attorney at the Office of Chief Counsel for the Internal Revenue Service. He was listed as a 2013 New York Super Lawyers “Rising Star.” Fink received his J.D. from Benjamin N. Cardozo School of Law and his LL.M. from New York University School of Law.
Kalmykov represents clients in a wide-range of employment based immigrant and non-immigrant visa matters including students, trainees, professionals, managers and executives, artists and entertainers, treaty investors and traders, persons of extraordinary ability and immigrant investors. She has extensive experience working on EB-5 immigrant investor matters and regularly works with developers across a variety of industries, as well as private equity funds on developing new projects that qualify for EB-5 investments. Kalmykov splits her time between the firm’s New Jersey and New York offices.
Among Kalmykov’s many accolades, she was listed as one of EB5Investor magazine’s 2013 “Top 25 EB-5 Attorneys”, listed in the 2013 Chambers USA Guide and was listed in New Jersey Law Journal’s “New Leaders of the Bar,” 2012. She received her J.D. from American University College of Law.
Parmelee focuses his practice on securities litigation and defends Wall Street brokerage firms and their employees. He has handled a wide range of matters, including sales practice disputes, alleged research conflicts issues, employment claims and regulatory investigations and also has experience in a variety of white collar criminal representations and general commercial litigations. Parmelee is a former Assistant District Attorney in the New York County District Attorney’s office. He received his J.D. from Brooklyn Law School.
Bookbinder focuses her practice on patent, trademark, copyright, and trade secret litigation, patent prosecution, and non-litigation enforcement of trademarks and copyrights. She is a member of the New York State Bar Association and was listed in the 2013 edition of New York Super Lawyers. Bookbinder received her J.D. from the University of Pennsylvania Law School.
