Wisconsin Martial Arts Instructor Selected as 'Top Notch Teacher'
Madison, Wisconsin (PRWEB) February 28, 2014 -- WISC-TV in conjunction with Channel3000.com selected Jason Huett of Kicks Unlimited martial arts school as February 2014’s ‘Top Notch Teacher.' While this nomination has historically been reserved for teachers within public and private school systems, Huett was the first martial arts instructor in Wisconsin to receive the award.
“I was very shocked and honored all at the same time,” said Huett. “I’ve followed the ‘Top Notch Teacher' coverage for years because I love learning about what different teachers are doing in the classroom to connect with their students. I didn’t expect the nomination because I teach in a less conventional classroom. As a martial arts instructor, I feel I have a great impact on helping kids (and adults) develop respect, self-discipline, and confidence.”
Huett is the founder of Kicks Unlimited martial arts school located in Fitchburg, Wisconsin. Recently, Huett upgraded his Fitchburg facility and now offers not only self-defense and martial arts instruction, but other educational opportunities at his ‘Kicks Education Center' including Japanese language and culture, health-related seminars presented by local professionals, and other learning opportunities that involve the entire family.
"What we're doing here at Kicks Unlimited is definitely cutting edge and outside-the-box for a martial arts school. It is my philosophy to constantly find new and better methods of educating our students. For my students, this comes in the form of unique learning opportunities at my school. We've definitely gotten away from teaching only Karate - it's now so much more in terms of culture and life lessons," said Huett.
