The 2014 Women's Private Equity Summit to Showcase New Offerings, Expanded Networking Opportunities at 7th Annual Conference
Lexington, MA (PRWEB) February 18, 2014 -- The 7th Annual Women’s Private Equity Summit will be held March 13 – 14, 2014 at The Ritz-Carlton, Half Moon Bay, California. As this major industry conference for senior-level women in private equity and venture capital marks its seventh year, the Summit’s influence continues to grow. Conference producer Falk Marques Group expects close to 450 attendees at the 2014 event — the largest gathering yet.
Beth Falk, Summit founder and president of Falk Marques Group, notes this year’s conference presents a host of new offerings for its high-level attendees. “The private equity industry is on the move again, and we’re shaking things up at the Summit too,” says Falk. “We’ve added pre-Summit networking opportunities, new presentation formats and exciting new speakers. We’ve even added golf events at the stunning Ritz-Carlton golf course.” In short, says Falk, the 2014 Women’s Private Equity Summit “continues to present participants a uniquely valuable conference.”
The Women’s Private Equity Summit attracts a powerful group of leaders — GPs, LPs and advisors to the industry — to facilitate networking, fundraising and dealmaking opportunities and increase access to hard-to-get information. During keynote plenary sessions, moderated panel discussions and topic-focused roundtable conversations a “Who’s Who” of the private markets will share their insights and experience with Summit attendees. Featured speakers include Susan J. Carter, CEO of Commonfund Capital; Helen Greiner, CEO of CyPhy Works and co-founder of iRobot; Aileen Lee, Founder, Cowboy Ventures; Jennifer Fonstad, Founding Partner, Aspect Ventures; Lauren Leichtman, CEO and Founding Principal, Levine Leichtman Capital Partners; Hollie Moore Haynes, Managing Director and Co-Founder, Silver Lake Sumeru; Kelly Williams, President, GCM Customized Fund Investment Group, L.P and Sandra A. Urie and Andrea Auerbach, Chairman and CEO and Managing Director, respectively of Cambridge Associates. Cambridge Associates and Ms. Urie will be honored as recipients of the 2014 Private Equity Trailblazer Award, which recognizes pioneering women and companies in the field of private equity and venture capital.
Another intriguing new offering at the 2014 Women’s Private Equity Summit are the “TINA” TALKS,” coined by Falk Marques Group as an acronym for Transformation | Innovation | New Initiatives | Alternative Strategies. Inspired by the TED-talk format, these fast-paced presentations will offer strikingly original ideas about the future of our world in such areas as philanthropy, pension reform and global economic trends.
TINA talkers include Kathleen Kennedy Townsend, Director, The Rock Creek Group and former Maryland Lt. Governor; Julie Sunderland, Director, Program Related Investments at the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation; and Sarah Alexander, Managing Director of The Abraaj Group.
In addition to high-profile keynoters and TINA talkers, the Women’s Private Equity Summit will present more than 50 dynamic speakers drawn from the private equity world’s top limited partners, general partners and advisors.
