Brian D. Young has been set by Scorpio Studios to script Christmas K9 (http://www.christmas-k9.com), a family adventure about a young boy who saves Santa’s puppy. “There's always a need for fun family holiday films, something that everyone gets a laugh out of. It's part of the magic of holidays being able to watch some of these films over and over again. And there's always room for a new family classic,” states Brian.

Brian D. Young is a sought-after screenwriter who occasionally comes up for air. As a writer and producer he has credits on features, MOWs, series, and shorts. His work on the series Mayday is seen in over 60 countries. Brian has projects in development in LA and in Canada, including the adaptation of a Jeffrey Archer action thriller, a romantic comedy, and an animated feature, plus numerous MOWs and series.

He has written for Warner Brothers, Walt Disney Studios, Sony, Lifetime, Imprint, CBC, SyFy, Brightlight, Movie Central... and many others.
Brian was awarded the Telefilm Canada Fellowship for his script Pot Scrubbers. That same script also won the Praxis Screen Writing Award. He has also been a top finalist in six international screen writing contests and been featured in Script Magazine.

Brian splits his time between his home just outside of Vancouver and Los Angeles. He is represented by The Jennifer Hollyer Agency for both his feature and television work.

“Having Brian’s caliber of talent involved in this project is really exciting and we hope that families worldwide really enjoy this holiday adventure as much as we do,” states Producer Kevin L. Summerfield, whose credits include the recent release of the animated pilot teaser Rikki Tikki Tavi™, exclusively on the Preview Buzz mobile app, as well as producing the Zac Efron feature film The Derby Stallion, which received a global release and merchandising including lunch boxes sold at Wal-Mart.
