Mobile World Capital Barcelona announced last week the 10 finalists chosen from over 450 entries for its startup competition.
Cell Buddy will debut its groundbreaking SIM technology in the 2014 Mobile World Congress in Barcelona. ID-SIM with the Marketplace app enables customers to easily interact online and download better, more flexible or more competitive plans from virtually every MNO, MVNO, 3rd party or reseller. Cell Buddy’s SIM in the cloud technology enables one click shopping for price, speed, service or coverage.
Cell Buddy’s aims to transforms the offline mobile traffic industry to a competitive online market for the benefit of the customers.
“Cell Buddy is all about freedom,” said Yoram Nissenboim, Cell Buddy CEO. He added: “Over 1B travelers that pay 10 times more than they pay at home deserve the freedom to easily and dynamically choose their provider and plan. I trust that this will lead to a dramatic shift in their ability to connect, quality of service and their cost of being online. It is my honor to be selected as one of the top ten candidates.“
“Cell Buddy is a unique solution. In a competitive world, we need great tools to always be connected like we are at home. Cell Buddy has the potential to solve our connectivity issues while roaming,” said Yuval Illuz, Deputy CIO at ECI Telecom. “We are proud to be among the first to evaluate the system.”
Cell Buddy will be present in Mobile World Congress in Barcelona in two locations: at the Israeli foreign trade administration booth Hall 5 Stand E81 and at the start-ups village show room.
