SC Heart Gallery Foundation Requests Support for Children Waiting in Foster Care
Greenville, SC (PRWEB) February 19, 2014 -- Over 690 children are free and available to be adopted in the state of South Carolina—yet they remain waiting in foster care. There is nothing holding these children back from being connected with a loving family—except for finding forever homes that want them.
The South Carolina Heart Gallery Foundation is working to do just that. From October 2012 through the end of September 2013, the nonprofit organization produced and funded online advertising and television commercials that resulted in over 2.5 million views to spread the message of these waiting children. It supports the work of the South Carolina Heart Gallery—which is a collaborative program administered and supported by the Children’s Foster Care Review Board, Office of the Governor and the South Carolina Department of Social Services.
Of the 73 new families that started the adoption process with the South Carolina Heart Gallery last contract year, 43 were the direct result of the Foundation’s mass media campaign. With the support of individual donations, the impact can be even greater.
"There is no cost to adopt a child from foster care," said South Carolina Heart Gallery Foundation Board Member Somer Grasser. "We believe there is a family out there for each and every one of these children; we just need to get their attention and show them what these children have to offer their families."
