Los Angeles, CA (USA) (PRWEB) February 18, 2014
Brush Research Manufacturing (BRM), maker of flexible hones and industrial brushes, is announcing plans to attend CONEXPO-CON/AGG and IFPE 2014 from March 4 to 8 at the Las Vegas Convention Center in Nevada. CONEXP-CON/AGG is where the construction industry learns about new equipment, technologies, and trends. Held every three years, this event is co-located with IFPE 2014, the leading international expo and technical conference for fluid power, power transmission, and motion control.
For the thousands of visitors and exhibitors who will attend this year’s event, maintaining high-value assets such as construction equipment, diesel engines, and hydraulic cylinders is critical. That’s why Brush Research Manufacturing (BRM) will be in IPFE – South Hall 3 to share surface finishing solutions. Visit BRM in Booth #82533 to learn about Flex-Hone® technology, nylon abrasive brushes, and diesel tools for fluid and power equipment, hydraulics, earth movers, and more.
Fluid and Power Applications
BRM provides Flex-Hone® tools to makers of pneumatic and hydraulic valves and pumps. For example, when a manufacturer of pneumatic-driven liquid pumps needed an alternative to expensive, time-consuming manual deburring operations, BRM supplied the surface finishing solution. After the pump’s aluminum sleeves are machined and drilled, the manufacturer uses BRM cylinder hones to remove miniature burrs that could damage the pump’s O-rings.
Built with a double-wire metal mounting stem and flexible nylon abrasive filaments, Flex-Hone® tools provide a soft cutting action. Self-centering, self-aligning to the bore, and self-compensating for wear, flexible hones remove burrs and improve surface finish at the same time, whether on a workbench or in a machining center. From handheld electric drills to CNC machinery and robotic arms, Flex-Hone® tools work with existing production equipment and do not require rigid, elaborate setups.
Hydraulic Cylinders and Earth Moving Equipment
Hydraulic cylinder manufacturers also use flexible honing tools from BRM. By removing surface irregularities and producing a cross-hatch pattern, the Flex-Hone® imparts a plateau finish that reduces oil consumption and supports the anti-wear performance of hydraulic oils. With its low-temperature abrading process, flexible hones are also used with metal hydraulic motor bodies. For hard materials that require specialized surface finishing, choose Diamond Flex-Hone® tools.
BRM also supplies engine hones, deburring tools, and specialty diesel tools for maintaining earth moving equipment such as bulldozers, excavators, dump trucks, loaders, and graders. Companies like Caterpillar use large-diameter Flex-Hone® tools for deglazing, refinishing, and crosshatching cylinder liner walls during diesel engine overhauls. Organizations that service earth movers also like Flex-Hone® tools, especially for relieving hard-to-reach port areas.
