Let’s Hear the A-paws! Petplan Reveals Winners of 2014 Veterinary Awards
Philadelphia, PA (PRWEB) February 17, 2014 -- Now celebrating its second year on American soil, the Petplan Veterinary Awards recently shone a well-deserved spotlight on those outstanding veterinary professionals who spend their days (and nights, in some cases) caring for four-legged family members. Petplan, America’s best-loved insurer, is delighted to introduce the winners of the 2014 Veterinary Awards:
- Practice of the Year: Animal Hospital of North Asheville, Asheville, NC
- Veterinarian of the Year: Dr. Kim Slensky, Hope Veterinary Specialists, Malvern, PA
- Practice Manager of the Year: Kristen Hoffman, Veterinary Specialty & Emergency Clinic (VSEC), Levittown, PA
- Veterinary Technician of the Year: Megan Brashear, DoveLewis Emergency Animal Hospital, Portland, OR
The winners’ names were revealed at the Petplan Veterinary Awards Dinner, held on February 16 at the Four Seasons Hotel Las Vegas, in tandem with the 86th annual Western Veterinary Conference. The 2014 gala event was emceed by Dr. Ernie Ward and attended by more than 120 guests, including Vet Awards Judging Panelists Dr. Michael Cavanaugh of AAHA, Dr. Jane Brunt of CATalyst Counsel and 2014 WVC president Dr. Randall Ezell.
After pawing through a record 3,100 nominations from pet parents across the country, Petplan turned to an independent Judging Panel comprised of 12 prominent pet health professionals and veterinarians, who volunteered their time and expertise to evaluate the three finalists in each category. The winners were selected for their commitment to providing an exceptional level of care to pets, delivering exemplary customer service to pet parents and showing devotion to educating and improving their communities.
“We are thrilled to recognize our winners for their outstanding accomplishments and exceptional dedication to helping pet parents keep our furry friends on their feet,” says Petplan co-Founder and co-CEO Natasha Ashton. “All of our winners continually go the extra mile to better the lives of pets and pet parents alike; something we also seek to do every day here at Petplan.”
“This is our third year recognizing an outstanding veterinarian, second year honoring vet techs and practice managers and first to celebrate a Practice of the Year,” Ashton continues. “We look forward to continuing to expand these awards with new categories each year, including our inaugural 2015 Pet Parent Award, presented in partnership with Reader’s Digest.”
