Los Angeles, CA (PRWEB) February 18, 2014 -- Continuing to have sex during pregnancy is important for the ongoing intimacy and bonding that it fosters for both partners. In fact, because of increased blood flow to the labia and cervix, intimacy can be even more pleasurable during pregnancy than otherwise.
Dr. Kat (drkat.com) recommends two great positions during pregnancy.
Rear Entry Side Position -- Both partners lay spooning each other with the male behind. This position does not allow for the penis to enter too deep, which can be an issue as the cervix is more sensitive during pregnancy. It also removes pressure from the belly and pelvis, and creates the opportunity for his hands to have access to her breasts.
“Lazy” Position -- Both partners face opposite directions while on their backs and then they then scissor their legs together. This position is easy for both partners because weight is distributed on their backs and they can easily control penetration. She can shift her hips into a comfortable position, for example, while allowing her hands to access her clitoris.
“Don’t forget that intimacy also allows for the release of oxytocin – a hormone that bonds partners through physical touch. And that’s definitely something to continue to foster throughout pregnancy,” says Dr. Kat.
