(PRWEB) February 18, 2014 -- RoseASP’s highly regulated partners and customers will see further improvement of already top-level security and compliance as the Dynamics ERP hosting company recently added Glen Medwid to the executive team in the role of Chief Compliance Officer, RoseASP announced Tuesday. The announcement follows the recent news that RoseASP’s data centers successfully completed a SSAE 16 SOC 1, Type 2 compliance audit with zero exceptions for the fifth consecutive year.
“We are committed to serving publicly traded companies and other regulated companies, and that’s reflected in our decision to hire Glen Medwid for the newly created role of Chief Compliance Officer, as well as five straight years of zero exception SSAE 16 compliance,” said Linda Rose, CEO of RoseASP. “We are excited to be able to offer the highest levels of secure compliant services to our clients and prospective clients, and Mr. Medwid’s experience and skill-set will play a valuable part in making that happen.”
The Chief Compliance Officer’s primary function is to ensure compliance with policies governing IT operations and internal controls and to ensure that those controls adhere to current policies needed from a SOX or other regulatory compliance standpoint. The focus of those controls is to make sure customer systems and data are adequately secured, backed up, monitored and managed. Medwid comes to RoseASP with over 30 years of experience in finance and accounting experience, including external and internal auditing as well as serving in C-level positions with both public and nonpublic entities.
“One of my key roles is to make sure clients requiring compliance with SOX or other regulatory controls do not have any deficiencies detected during their audits of our controls,” Medwid said. “We need to make sure our internal controls meet the expectations of our customers for regulatory and other compliance. Companies that adopt hosting as their software model need to know that the entity they are using has well-designed internal controls and is complying with those established internal controls on a continual basis. Just as you rely on your hosting partner to always have the system operational, you also need the same level of assurance to know their controls surrounding the system are in place and operating effectively on a continual basis. Having a compliance officer in-house to monitor adherence to controls and work with in-house IT and customers to enhance existing controls and implement new controls is an important step to making sure there are no internal control issues.”
Although SOX and other regulatory compliant customers may benefit the most from the company having a Chief Compliance Officer, all Cloud-hosted customers benefit from having good internal controls practiced by their hosting partner.
SSAE-16 sets industry standards for service-based organizations. It provides a report on the internal controls that an organization uses to provide services to its clients. RoseASP’s data centers strictly adhere to security, availability and accuracy standards for the Cloud services industry, allowing them to deliver world-class enterprise level Microsoft Dynamics Hosting Services to its clients.
