Jay Phillips gets it. As lead agent/broker with The Phillips Team at Keller Williams Realty’s Chesterfield, Mo., office, he’s helped hundreds of senior adults to make a positive transition into a new home or community. Driven by a passion for serving seniors and a sharp business acumen for maximizing efficiency, he’s developed some inspired solutions for getting the homes of his senior clients on the market and sold quickly.

“An estate sale is a key component of the downsizing process,” Phillips explained. “When we had to rely on other companies to manage it for our clients, too often we found that they were booked for two or three months out, and the service was not always up to our standards. Now that we have formed our own estate sale company, with an appraiser on board for items such as collectibles, stamps and coins, we can ensure that our clients come first and have more control over their timeline for moving and selling their home.”

Even more important is the fact that, when done by a professional company such as ours, combining the two events draws in four to five times the visitors than an open house tends to, and results in an offer on the home the vast majority of the time. “As a result, our clients don’t have to go through the traditional pre-sale staging process, which they always tell us is a huge benefit,” Phillips added.

“Senior clients and their adult children would prefer to not have to spend thousands of dollars updating and staging the home in order to list it,” Phillips explained. “Our focus is on making our clients’ lives simple. That means getting the home sold quickly and serving as the information and referral hub throughout every step of the process.“
