Announcement: BluesGuitar.com Releases “Blues Guitar Lesson - Intro Riff from the Song West Side Baby by T Bone Walker”
(PRWEB) February 18, 2014 -- MacLennan demonstrates the lick as follows; second finger on the 11th fret of the 5th string, first finger on the 10th fret of the 4th string, 3rd finger on the 11th fret of the 3rd string, 2nd string, and first string. This chord shape is the Dominant 9 which consists of the 1st, 3rd, 5th, b7 (flat 7), and 9th notes of the major scale. “This is a moveable chord”, says MacLennan, “what ever note your 2nd finger plays is the root.” Jon demonstrates that you simply strum the chord and then slide down one half step at a time until you reach the 6th fret. Then Jon finishes it off with a B9 which consists of 7th fret of the 6th string with his thumb and mutes the 5th string, 7th fret of the 4th string with his 2nd finger, 6th fret of the 3rd string with his first finger and 7th fret of the 2nd string with his 3rd finger. Jon strums that chord and then slides the chord down one half step to finish the lick. Guitar tabs are available for this blues guitar lesson at BluesGuitar.com.
