ILX Comment on the Link between Training and Business Growth
(PRWEB UK) 18 February 2014 -- According to an article published by the Birmingham Post on 13th January nearly six out of ten businesses in the West Midlands are working to achieve significant growth over the next 12 months. The Business Factors Index, produced by Bibby Financial Services, surveyed organisations across the West Midlands region and discovered that businesses are preparing for an improvement in the economy by prioritising staff training and development. Businesses in the region are looking to grow by up to 10%, with the survey’s findings also suggesting an increased level of confidence as more companies see signs of economic recovery.
Offering an extensive range of portfolio, programme and project management training courses, the team at ILX were interested in the release of this report and welcomed news that businesses would be making staff training and development a priority in the coming months. A spokesperson for the company shared their thoughts:
“Training can play a crucial role in businesses reaching their potential and growing in competitive markets, so it is welcome news that businesses are looking to prioritise staff development. Training is an important aspect of any organisations growth potential. For example it can improve employee engagement and retention, as they feel valued and invested in by their employer. In addition it is important that an organisation identifies exactly which learning programmes need to be introduced to ensure that individual capabilities are enhanced for the good of the wider organisation. This can be done with the use of competency based assessments which help to identify strengths and weaknesses which in turn will help the organisation understand exactly where skills and knowledge need to be improved.”
