Montreal, QC (PRWEB) February 19, 2014
BuildIT Software & Solutions Ltd. is pleased to announce the release of BuildIT 2014, with improved fitting methods, support for additional formats and all new commands. The latest version of their 3D metrology software enables quick and easy dimensional inspection of manufactured parts and assemblies for tool building, assembly, alignment, process automation and quality control.
With both numerical and graphical feedback of real-time deviations, BuildIT 2014 allows users to position parts with micrometer accuracy for high-precision assembly applications. It interfaces in real-time with a variety of probing and scanning measurement devices from all major hardware vendors, including FARO, Leica, Romer, API and Creaform, enabling the quick and efficient acquisition of dimensional information from a tool or part.
BuildIT 2014 features increased support for scanned point clouds, with a native 64-bit version providing improved handling of large point clouds, increased processing speed, and the ability to import colored point cloud data. The software directly reads 3D CAD files from native (CATIA®, NX, Parasolid, CREO (Pro/E), Inventor) or neutral formats (IGES, STEP, SAT) for model based inspection and assembly. Support for CAD formats has been extended to include JT, SolidWorks and CATIA V6 file formats, as well as NX – PMI at assembly level. In addition, BuildIT 2014 imports measured point data from external sources for maximum compatibility.
BuildIT 2014 now supports DML export, enabling Statistical Process Control (SPC) through DPV Lite, a Siemens PLM product. The ability to perform a statistical analysis of the manufacturing process complements BuildIT’s core offering by expanding the use of the analysis data into control charts to reduce waste and increase product conformity.
