People define success differently. Having a good job, money and a big house are all ways to judge success. February is Expect Success Month, and Glass Doctor has five tips for planning and goal setting for success.
- Create a mission statement
Whether the plan is to be financially independent, debt-free or early retirement, create a mission statement and make it succinct. The more in depth the mission statement, the better chance you have of reaching your goal.
- Set strategies with deadlines
Time-lines are an important part of planning. Write you goal strategy down along with the necessary steps to reach that goal. Review the plan often and make necessary adjustments.
- Write it down
The act of writing something down creates a bond, responsibility and a pact between you and your goals. Putting your future down on paper is taking an active step from thinking and dreaming about it, to action.
- Create a visual board
Find images that represent the goals you are trying to attain. Place the images on a board so you never lose sight of your end-goal.
- Don’t be a control freak
Some things will never be in your control and they may derail your plans. While these things can’t be controlled, you can plan ahead for challenges. Plan for the worst and you will be able to handle any situation that may interrupt your future goals.
These tips from Glass Doctor can put you on a path to success. Find what works for you and start planning for a successful future.
