Sun-Times Media is excited to officially announce the creation of STM Custom Studios, a new division of Sun-Times Media.
STM Custom Studios was launched to help brands create and distribute relevant, high-quality custom content experiences to the Chicago Sun-Times community and beyond. In addition to an extensive network of print assets, the Custom Media group utilizes market-leading digital and interactive expertise, as well as live events to create specialized, innovative solutions for clients.
Katherine Gregory, the Sun-Times’ Director of Business Development, has been tapped to head the new Sun-Times Custom Content group.
“We look forward to leveraging our marketing and media expertise on behalf of our clients. By creating high-quality content that is useful to target audiences, STM Custom Studios enhances our clients’ brands and builds thought leadership across many platforms,” Gregory said.
Despite these additions, Sun-Times Media remains committed to the traditional journalistic ethics that served as the paper’s founding values. Jim Kirk, Editor-In-Chief and Publisher of the Chicago Sun-Times, made it clear that STM Custom Studios will operate separately from the newsroom.
“At the Chicago Sun-Times, we pledge in our Readers’ Bill of Rights that sponsored content will be clearly labeled and distinguished from editorial content,” Kirk said. “We will be transparent with readers and never compromise our journalistic standards.”
As the Chicago Sun-Times continues to expand its digital footprint, Kirk said custom content is one of the ways the company will stay engaged in the media landscape of the future.
