Announcement: BluesGuitar.com Releases “Blues Guitar Lesson in the Style of Muddy Waters - Mannish Boy Guitar Riff”
(PRWEB) February 20, 2014 -- A “riff” is the catchy part of a song that sticks in your head. One of the most recognizable guitar riffs of all time is “Smoke on the Water” by Deep Purple.
“If we’re talking about the blues it doesn’t get any better than Muddy Waters,” says MacLennan. The riff in this lesson is in the key of “A” and uses double stops. MacLennan demonstrates it as follows: play the 7th fret of the 4th string with 3rd finger and then bar 3rd finger across the 7th fret of the 3rd and 2nd strings, this is a double stop, and then play the 7th fret of the 4th string again. Next he bars his first finger across the 5th fret of the 3rd and 2nd strings, another double stop, and then he plays the 7th fret of the 4th string again. Finally he finishes off the riff with an A5 power chord with his first finger on the 5th fret of the 6th string and 3rd finger on the 7th fret of the 5th string. Guitar TAB’s for this blues guitar lesson are available at BluesGuitar.com.
