CorasWorks Announces New Application Designer for Microsoft SharePoint
Reston, VA (PRWEB) February 20, 2014 -- CorasWorks Corporation, a global leader in work management solutions on the Microsoft SharePoint platform, today announced the availability of its new Application Designer. The Application Designer is a new tool that provides a GUI-based front-end for designing and building work management solutions with the CorasWorks Software Platform.
“For years now we’ve had our Software Platform and all the features and capabilities that are a part of it,” said Dan Naselius, Chief Operating Office at CorasWorks. “With our new Application Designer, we’re now providing a front-end through which users can access all the features and capabilities of the Platform, but through an interface that literally walks you through the process of designing and building an application. Now more than ever the SharePoint community needs a visual designer, especially since Microsoft killed the design view in the 2013 edition of SharePoint Designer."
With the Application Designer, users work within a well-defined application framework and design and build applications by dropping in “widgets” that provide the functionality. Widgets include navigational items (tabs, buttons), pages, displays, actions, and links. Widgets can be created using point-and-click Wizards. All the Widgets can be used and reused across multiple applications.
“The Application Designer fundamentally changes the way you build applications with our Software Platform…and on SharePoint,” said Naselius. “This drag, drop, and configure capability for building apps significantly enhances the ease and speed of building apps. We’ve always been in the business of making it easier and faster to build applications on SharePoint and the Application Designer is the next generation.”
The Application Designer is now available to all CorasWorks Customers. Prior to its general release, it was in a limited release to select CorasWorks customers. Early returns were positive with many customers saying the Application Designer significantly decreases the time and resources required to build an application. This gets the application in the hands of the user faster and allows for a “back-and-forth” build process that helps ensure the app meets the needs of the end user. In addition, the visual nature of the tool and its drag-and-drop capability allow a wider range of individuals to build applications.
CorasWorks will be demonstrating the Application Designer at the upcoming Microsoft SharePoint Conference 2014, March 3-6, in Las Vegas, Nv. CorasWorks will be exhibiting in Booth 1325.
