Austin, Texas (PRWEB) February 20, 2014

Community Activist and Realtor Vik Vad of the Austin Board of Realtors was among more than 1,000 Texas Realtors attending the Texas Association of Realtors Winter Meeting, Feb. 6 -11 at the Hyatt Regency Austin.

Speakers during the five-day event included: Motivational speaker Terry Watson; Texas Railroad Commissioner and Texas attorney general candidate Barry Smitherman; Texas attorney general candidate Rep. Dan Branch; and Texas attorney general candidate Sen. Ken Paxton.

During Winter Meeting, attendees explored the latest technologies and marketing tools for Texas Realtors – including the association’s new member and consumer website, TexasRealEstate.com – as well as trends in commercial real estate, professional standards, technology, property management, risk reduction, member benefits and more.

"It was a great chance to network, build new relationships, as well as see familiar faces," Vad stated. "There were also questions about our board's recent decision to no longer facilitate syndication of listings, which we were able to answer confidently and accurately." Mr. Vad is a broker-associate with Cantera Real Estate, one of the local firms that has decided to leave it up to individual agents whether to syndicate listings or not.
