Enterprise information security operates in an increasingly complex environment. Not only are organizations adopting new devices at an ever increasing rate, but the boundaries of the very networks on which these devices run are increasingly permeable. Information Security professionals are required to have a comprehensive view of the environment in order to drive risk-based security practices and actively reduce overall risk to the business.

This added complexity has created large gaps in network and device intelligence, with as much as 20% of the environment not under management. These gaps leave security professionals blind to unknown portions of the infrastructure or unmanaged devices on the network, and may represent the greatest level of risk to the organization.
