DataServ, the global SaaS provider of document and process automation solutions, has broadened their support staff with the help of LaunchCode – a St. Louis-based company that utilizes “pair programming” as a way for inexperienced programmers to work with experienced programmers within a company – by hiring Jason Williams as a programmer to aid their Software Product Development (SPD) team.
Williams is a former data analyst at MarketScope who recently graduated with a bachelor’s degree in Computer Science from the University of Missouri-St. Louis. He will help DataServ’s SPD team build leading edge, web-based applications within a small team using agile based processes. Williams signed up with LaunchCode in the fall of 2013 and, after being paired with DataServ, he was hired by the company after successfully completing his three-month “mentorship.”
“Jason came to LaunchCode as a bright young man looking for a way into the world of computer programming,” says Zach Lou, project manager at LaunchCode. “Based on our discussion with him and our knowledge of DataServ, we thought that he could be a great fit for DataServ's team. Things could not have gone smoother, and DataServ saw the same potential in Jason that we did. DataServ has been a fantastic partner to LaunchCode in this effort, and we're excited that things have worked out so well.”
Adds DataServ CEO/Managing Partner Jeff Haller: “As one of the original 100 LaunchCode supporters, we love this idea and are excited to demonstrate how well ‘pair programming’ works by hiring our first LaunchCoder!”
