The Science Museum of Virginia unveils the most technologically advanced digital Dome theater in the world. The Dome has been upgraded with a new state of the art Nanoseam™ screen and projectors capable of high deﬁnition ten times the power of a home theater system.
New Cosmic Expeditions will allow guests to travel the full expanse of the cosmos — from the creation of the universe to cataclysmic forces throughout the galaxies that are truly mesmerizing. Whether it’s a wild ride through the thick atmosphere of Venus, dodging solar ﬂares around the Sun or taking a trip to the Cat’s Eye Nebula, guests will interact with the cosmos in a truly spectacular fashion.

The transformation of The Dome is a ﬂagship experience in the Museum’s $60 million Inspire the World capital campaign.
The Dome opens Saturday, March 15, 2014, with the Cosmic Expedition Wildest Weather in the Solar System and Great White Shark.
