In order to convert mobile shoppers, usability and convenience have to be dialed in, our analytics show we have a very large Android user base and that is steadily increasing; Google Wallet can provide an optimal checkout process for those customers.

UniteU Technologies announced today complete Google Wallet for mobile shopping integration into its omnicommerce platform. “As retailers search for better ways to increase revenue from mobile shoppers, smooth, seamless checkout solutions are usually at the top of the list,” said Soumen Das, founder and CEO at UniteU. Google Wallet is a mobile payment system that allows shoppers to store debit or credit card information in their mobile phone so that checkout can happen with just two screen taps.

The integration of Google Wallet into the UniteU mCommerce platform offers an opportunity for retailers to reduce the friction of the checkout process and provide a faster, more convenient shopping experience that can be completed within two clicks. UniteU has been a huge champion for improving the speed and usability of mobile commerce sites and focuses on technologies that will add high conversion opportunities for their merchants. “A checkout process in which shoppers need to fill out long forms in order to complete their order can be a huge deterrent for mobile customers. Google Wallet solves that problem by making it easy for consumers to check out.” says Das.

UniteU worked with Garnet and Black Traditions to implement Google Wallet on their mobile site. “We saw Google Wallet as an opportunity to provide a more seamless experience to our mobile customers. In order to convert mobile shoppers, usability and convenience have to be dialed in, our analytics show we have a very large Android user base and that is steadily increasing; Google Wallet can provide an optimal checkout process for those customers.” says Chris Boomhower Director of eCommerce at Garnet and Black Traditions.

Unlike traditional payment methods, with Google Wallet there is no additional cost to the merchant or the customer using the service. And with Google Wallet all of a shopper’s information is encrypted and secure on Google’s servers, full payment information for their credit or debit card is not shared with any merchant online or offline, giving shoppers confidence when shopping with new stores or brands. “From a retailer’s point of view using services provided by arguably the most influential Internet company, shows customers that we are serious about maintaining the highest levels of security and ease-of-use” continues Boomhower.

UniteU will continue implementing Google Wallet in the coming months for many of their mobile commerce customers. “We are looking forward to implementing this added value product for many of our merchants in the coming months, as we are sure it will provide an added bump on our already high-converting mobile sites” says Das.
