Customizable Burger Franchise Teams Up with Aramark to Introduce Brand to Hammond, La. Community

Burger enthusiasts at Southeastern Louisiana University can look forward to having something new to drool over in 2014 and beyond, as MOOYAH Burgers, Fries & Shakes (MOOYAH), a fast-casual, “better burger” chain, opened in Hammond, La. on Feb. 17, 2014. MOOYAH is located in the university’s War Memorial Student Union and will offer its famous customizable Burgers, fresh-cut French Fries and handcrafted Shakes to hungry Lions, whether students, faculty or staff.

“We’re thrilled to bring a nationally known brand like MOOYAH to our campus and community at the new War Memorial Student Union,” said April Field Kemp, marketing manager at Southeastern University Dining Services. “The build-your-own-burger concept is sure to be a hit with our students and MOOYAH will bring a lot of new fun and excitement to our campus.”

Kemp said that MOOYAH’s introduction to the university community was the result of student input on what type of restaurant concept they would like to see on campus. Southeastern Louisiana University students made it clear they wanted burgers on campus, and given MOOYAH’s existing partnership with Aramark, a food-service provider for educational institutions, the university decided to bring the Dallas-based burger brand to the Hammond, La. campus.

“We saw the response that the university overwhelmingly wanted a new burger concept,” Kemp said. “Based on the success of their previous partnerships with other institutions, as well as their great product, we decided that MOOYAH was the best burger brand to bring to our campus. We want to continue giving our university the best of the best.”

MOOYAH is all about providing a fully customizable burger experience. Guests have the advantage of choosing from a variety of bread options, such as freshly baked white or wheat buns and handcrafted lettuce wraps to accompany either the never-frozen 100 percent American beef patty, Jennie-O turkey patty or the mouthwatering veggie burger. Each gourmet burger creation comes with a selection of unlimited veggies and a choice of 10 delicious sauces.

MOOYAH French fries come together in a six-step process that takes a total of 24 hours to completely prepare. A delightful combination of constant attention and a little magic help transform U.S. No. 1 Idaho potatoes into perfect, crisp-on-the-outside and fluffy-on-the-inside fries. Never one to forget dessert, MOOYAH offers handcrafted shakes, allowing Guests to choose from classic flavors like vanilla and chocolate, or opt to make their own creations with toppings such as cookie dough, peanut butter cups and more.
