St. Paul, Minnesota (PRWEB) February 21, 2014

Intertech, a leading IT consulting and training company, is a proud new sponsor of the FIRST Robotics Regional Competition in Minnesota, including tournaments in Minneapolis and Duluth in March.

“Intertech supports the FIRST mission ‘to inspire young people to be science and technology leaders, by engaging them in exciting mentor-based programs that build science, engineering and technology skills, that inspire innovation, and that foster well-rounded life capabilities including self-confidence, communication, and leadership,’” said Intertech founder and CEO Tom Salonek.

In addition, Intertech Foundation has given grants totaling $5,000 to qualified non-profit organizations in support of FIRST Robotics teams across the United States in 2014. A complete list of grant recipients can be found at http://www.intertech.com/philanthropy.

“We realize that not all young people can look forward to a bright future, which is why, since its founding in 2006, our Intertech Foundation has provided financial support to nearly 100 families with terminally ill children,” commented Intertech Foundation President Tom Salonek. “Intertech Foundation works closely with Ronald McDonald House Charities, Upper Midwest to provide funds directly to families in need, and Intertech employees volunteer and bring cheer into the lives of children who are spending time at the RMH in Minneapolis.”
