The fundraising method of donating online is quickly growing. According to a 2013 survey by the Chronicle of Philanthropy, online giving increased by 14 percent in 2012 and almost three quarters of nonprofits surveyed aimed to expand their online donations in the next few years.

The new online donation platform includes a custom donation form that the nonprofit can brand and link to an easy-to-find donate button on their website. Even nonprofits without a website can still benefit from online donations by including a donate button on their email and social media that links to their donation form webpage.
“Donors that set up a recurring donation online are more likely to continue giving, so including this option in every fundraising campaign can mean a significant boost in giving and stability for a nonprofit,” said Goetz. “Nonprofits can set up their account, customize their donation form and share it with their donors in less than five minutes.”
Nonprofits using Aplos Donor Management to accept online donations will receive some of the lowest credit card processing fees available at 2.2% + $.30 for recognized 501(c)(3) organizations for the first $25,000 in donations and 2.7% + $.30 for all donations above that amount. Organizations that are not recognized as 501(c)(3) receive rates of 2.9% + $.30 per transaction for the first $25,000 and 3.4% + $.30 above that amount.
In addition to secure online donations, Aplos Donor Management’s monthly subscription of ten dollars per month enables a nonprofit to save time by combining all donation tracking in one convenient location and automatically generating contribution statements. If the organization also subscribes to Aplos Accounting for fund accounting, the donations and contacts are seamlessly integrated and automatically tracked within the financials.
