Announcement: BluesGuitar.com releases “Blues Guitar Lesson on Muddy Waters - Hoochie Coochie Man Guitar Riff”
(PRWEB) February 22, 2014 -- A “riff” is the catchy part of a song that sticks in your head. One of the most recognizable guitar riffs of all time is “Smoke on the water” by Deep Purple.
Today’s guitar lesson is a blues in the key of G that MacLennan demonstrates as follows; fret the 5th fret of the 5th string with 3rd finger and then the 3rd fret 4th string with first finger and then back down to the first note and then back to the second note. Next is the 5th fret of the 4th string with his 3rd finger and then a slide down the neck and then just repeat the sequence. “You can also slide into the first note”, says MacLennan. He repeats this sequence four times and on the last time instead of sliding out of the last note Jon descends from the 5th fret of the 4th string down one half step at a time to the second fret. Next is what Jon calls a “very common bass line” which takes you through the root, 3rd, 5th, & 7th over the 1-4-5 chord progression. And finally he ends it with a turn around that consists of 5th fret of the 4th string to the 3rd fret and finally the 5th fret of the 5th string. Guitar TAB’s for this blues guitar lesson are available at BluesGuitar.com.
