Of all the software we looked at, DonorDrive is best to meet the needs of the Buddy Walks across the country. It'll alleviate many of the issues and concerns that we've experienced in the past.
Cincinnati, Ohio (PRWEB) February 24, 2014
The National Down Syndrome Society has selected DonorDrive® Social Fundraising as their preferred vendor for event registration and online fundraising for Buddy Walks® across the country. Over 300,000 people participated in Buddy Walks in 2013 to promote acceptance and inclusion of people with Down syndrome and to raise funds for local programs and services as well as the national advocacy initiatives of the National Down Syndrome Society that benefit all individuals with Down syndrome.
National Buddy Walk® Director Becky Switalski chose DonorDrive for many reasons, with increasing participation at the top of the list: "DonorDrive absolutely will increase the number of people at our events. It's more intuitive, it’s going to streamline things and it will make it easier than ever for families and individuals to register and donate to our Walks."
NDSS learned about DonorDrive through the Down Syndrome Association of Greater Cincinnati, who uses DonorDrive for their Buddy Walk®, one of the largest in the country. Kerin Caudill is Event Manager for DSAGC: "2013 turned out to be a banner year for our Buddy Walk®. Not only did we hit our goal of $400,000 and surpass it, but we raised 15% more than last year and had over 1,000 additional online pre-registrants than previous years." Online donations are becoming an ever-increasing part of Cincinnati's Buddy Walk® with a 36% increase in money raised online through DonorDrive in 2013. "Our team captains and participants took advantage of DonorDrive's ease of connecting with friends and family through social media. Being able to easily share fundraising pages lent to friendly competition and was a perfect tool to raise awareness for the families we serve."
Buddy Walk® events nationally raised over $12,000,000 last year. The National Down Syndrome Society expects online donations to increase in 2014 with DonorDrive solving many of the issues they had with previous fundraising software. Becky sees that the flexibility of DonorDrive will help Buddy Walk® participants raise more for the cause: "Of all the software we looked at, DonorDrive is best to meet the needs of the Buddy Walks across the country. It'll alleviate many of the issues and concerns that we've experienced in the past."
