FORTA Corporation Adds Technical Manager of Asphalt
(PRWEB) February 21, 2014 -- FORTA® Corporation, a worldwide leader in fiber reinforcement technology for concrete and asphalt, has named Scott Nazar its technical manager of asphalt.

In his new role at FORTA®, Scott will lead company efforts on asphalt placement and compaction techniques and processes, including large DOT scale to commercial applications, quality assurance and quality control procedures and plant calibration. He will also coordinate material testing and lab procedures.
Before joining FORTA, Nazar spent nearly a decade and a half in various roles at the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation. Most recently, he served as section chief for materials innovation management, where he led the pavement material functions within the Roadway Management Division (RMD) to ensure maximum utilization of the resources dedicated to pavements. He also provided assistance, direction and oversight to various districts by developing and implementing a comprehensive support program through the analysis of data of many types of materials used in highway construction and maintenance.
Prior to his promotion to section chief, Nazar was the statewide Bridge Maintenance Coordinator providing assistance to all districts on priority bridge maintenance activities.
He also was a senior civil engineer supervisor involved in development and coordination of traffic signal activities and Intelligent Traffic Systems (ITS) projects.
Additionally, he spent four years as a quality control technician in private sector asphalt plants and was chairman of the North East Pavement Preservation Partnership in 2013.
Nazar holds a bachelor’s degree in structural design and construction engineering technology from Penn State University, as well as an associate’s degree in mechanical engineering technology from Harrisburg Area Community College.
