Bellucci Premium, a high quality Italian olive oil manufacturer, responds to an article published by Olive Oil Times on The National Organization of Olive Oil Tasters’ network expansion of certified olive oil tasters in America and its efforts to educate people on specific olive oil tasting training and certification.

In an article published on February 6th by Olive Oil Times titled, “Olive Oil Immersion Course Comes To New York City,” the National Organization of Olive Oil Tasters (ONAOO) is planning to host a five-day olive oil tasting program in March at Del Posto restaurant in New York City. This event will be the first time an olive oil tasting program such as this will held in the United States. Typically this event has been held at the ONAOO’s headquarters, located in Imperia, Italy.

The program will provide participants with education and training in olive oil production processes, sensory development, and industry regulations. They will also been given the opportunity to become certified in olive oil tasting by taking the sensory analysis certification exam from the ONAOO. The cost to attend this seminar is $1,850 with the ONAOO certification and $1,550 without certification.

Natalie Sexenian, the marketing manager for Bellucci Premium, says, “The ability to become a certified olive oil taster is incredible. There is such a meticulous process behind the tasting of olive oil that it can be considered an art form. Educating people on how to properly taste extra virgin olive oils will allow them to become smarter consumers and understand the difference between good and poor oils.”

Bellucci Premium offers three different types of oil, including an organic option, with a mild peppery flavor and fruity undertones that will satisfy any palate. Bellucci Premium Toscano extra virgin olive oil uses olives that are grown on the beautiful landscapes of Tuscany, and maintained by 3rd and 4th generation farmers. The third type of oil Bellucci produces is the finest 100% Italian extra virgin olive oil, grown in many different regions of Italy.
