(PRWEB) February 21, 2014
Home Care Assistance, North America’s leading provider of in-home care for seniors, is pleased to announce the Grand Opening of its new office in Gambrills, Maryland, which will serve the Greater Annapolis and Anne Arundel County communities. To commence the Grand Opening celebration, County Executive Laura Neuman conducted a ribbon cutting ceremony. Attendees included representatives from the Greater Crofton Chamber of Commerce and the West County Chamber of Commerce, clients, caregivers and their families, and many local business owners and entrepreneurs. Guests enjoyed samples of delicious, healthy foods and smoothies from Home Care Assistance’s cookbooks.
“We were excited to partner with local businesses, our clients, their families and our caregivers to host a spectacular Grand Opening event,” said Anne Rohall, Owner of Home Care Assistance of Annapolis. “As advocates against elder abuse and neglect, we are honored that fellow advocate, County Executive Laura Neuman officiated the ribbon-cutting for our event. I discussed the services that make Home Care Assistance unique in the home care industry and to showed how we are changing the way the world ages one client at a time.”
Home Care Assistance provides both hourly and live-in services to seniors and individuals with disabilities, allowing them to remain safely and comfortably in their homes. Having an experienced and professional caregiver in the home provides family members respite and peace of mind. Caregivers are expertly trained in the Balanced Care Method™, a holistic approach to care based on scientific studies of the elder population in Okinawa, Japan. Individuals in Okinawa embody “healthy longevity”, living longer and healthier lives than any other population in the world. Inspired by this culture, The Balanced Care Method promotes excellent physical health, mental awareness and inner calm.
“At the Grand Opening Event we introduced some of our major differentiators, including our proprietary approach to aging and care, the Balanced Care Method, and our activities-based intervention program designed to delay cognitive decline, the Cognitive Therapeutics Method,” said Nancy Blethen, Co-Owner and Deputy Administrator of Home Care Assistance of Annapolis.
Home Care Assistance’s team of care managers approach each client as if he or she is a parent and spend time matching the client with the best skilled caregiver for his or her needs and personality. The office accepts approximately 1 out of every 25 caregiver applicants, conducting background and reference checks, and verifying work authorization. Applicants also complete a proprietary, clinical psychologist-developed Caregiver Personality Screening, which assesses traits such as honesty, kindness and conscientiousness.
Home Care Assistance staff is available 24/7 to provide experienced, trustworthy caregivers to help with all home care needs. Caregivers are trained to engage clients in physical, mental and social activities, in addition to assisting with meal preparation, personal hygiene, medication reminders, transportation and more.
