Central Florida Law Firm Releases Smartphone Application to Assist Residents with Legal Matters
Orlando, FL (PRWEB) February 27, 2014 -- Accidents happen every day, and they are never expected. No matter whose fault it was or wasn’t, the unexpected always creates chaos, but with the advancement of technologies such as smartphones, everything a person needs is right at their fingertips. The Umansky Law Firm now has an informative app that is accessible on anyone’s phone, the “Umansky Law Accident and DUI Help” App.
The Umansky Law Firm, a criminal defense and personal injury law firm located in Orlando, Florida, decided that they could extend the help they give residents of central Florida every day to an easy-to-use portable phone application.
Phone applications, or apps, have grown heavily in popularity over the past years. According to a study from WMPoweruser released on June 26th, 2013, one of the largest Windows Phone communities in the world, there were about 0 available apps in the beginning of 2010 for the Windows Phone, a smartphone grouped in with iPhone and Android. Now there are over 160,000.
Sarah Zielke, Director of Marketing for The Umansky Law, said she wanted to develop the app because “in the every changing world of communications, the Umansky law Firm strives to open all available avenues of communication to our clients and potential clients. We feel this app allows us to open new channels of communication that previously were unavailable to us.”
These legal apps are found on iTunes for iPhone users and the Android Marketplace for Androids; they are easy and convenient to download. The App assists a driver on the auto accident side of the app by providing fact-finding features that enables a user to collect all the information that would be needed by a car accident lawyer and their insurance company.
The App features a camera, text recorder and a video recorder, so all the basic information can be recorded. The FAQ section presents vital information for the proper procedures to follow in an accident. This is especially important if the driver has never been in an accident before and don’t know the proper protocol to follow.
The GPS locator will allow a user to record the traffic patterns and driving conditions surrounding the scene of the accident.
The App is prepared with forms that will help in collecting information from any witnesses, passengers or other drivers. During an auto accident, it is important for an individual to get accounts of the event as soon as possible so details aren’t forgotten. Without the App or use of any other data input tool, information is likely to be forgotten in the chaos of the event. The format will allow a user to collect the information that will benefit the lawyer that is eventually retained.
The DUI side of the App was designed by Umansky Law Firm to help individuals that have been charged with a DUI/DWI. On the app, there are features that instruct the user on how to avoid being arrested and provide forms and information that can be used by their lawyer. There is a BAC monitor included, but it is only to be used as an estimate, and should never be used to determine one’s legal sobriety.
The information on the DUI App is directed towards assisting the user to understanding and appropriating for the DUI. Though the law firm is located in Florida and therefore the App applies to Florida laws surrounding DUI and auto accidents, but those in other states may find many of the tools in the App still helpful, like the logs and BAC calculator.
The application can be seen here for iPhones and here for the Android market.
