GCN and GAB Strike Agreement With The Costa Report
San Francisco, CA (PRWEB) February 24, 2014 -- The Costa Report announced that it has reached an agreement with Genesis Communication Network (GCN) and Global American Broadcasting (GAB) to syndicate the program via satellite beginning March 1, 2014. The syndication agreements will permit over 5,500 radio stations in the United States to air the fast-growing weekly news magazine via existing satellite receivers.
Ted Anderson, CEO of GCN, said, "The Costa Report is radio’s answer to programs like Sixty Minutes, Meet The Press and This Week. In the tradition of Charlie Rose and other journalists, Costa brings thought-leaders to the table to examine the most pressing issues of our time, delivering headline-making interviews week after week." Ron Crider, President of GAB added, "What makes the program appealing is that it’s a nonpartisan show - one that’s proven it can bring large advertisers like IBM and Dole Foods back to talk radio."
Host of The Costa Report, American sociobiologist and author, Rebecca Costa, attributes the program’s success to a diverse guest roster. "There are few places left where leaders can get a fair, intelligent, long-form interview. Everyone knows that the top-rated television and radio news programs are designed to cater to the left or right. Businesses cannot afford to have their brands affiliated with that kind of programming – so the economic model on which radio has been based has broken down. If talk radio wants to heal itself, there’s a simple cure: offer programming that sponsors want to be associated with."
The Costa Report began four years ago as an off-shoot of Costa’s international bestselling book The Watchman’s Rattle: A Radical New Theory of Collapse. Owner of KSCO AM 1080, Michael Zwerling, heard the program and invited Costa to make KSCO the show’s flagship station. The Costa Report quickly expanded to sixty-five metro areas and has become an internet favorite thanks to an early partnership with VoiceAmerica. Costa’s guests have included George Mitchell, Pat Buchanan, Ralph Nader, John Bolton and Tom Dashle, as well as Carly Fiorina, William Shatner, Ray Kurzweil and John McAfee. Industry veterans claim the program has "the best guest line-up in radio today."
According to Costa, satellite syndication was the next logical step in the evolution of The Costa Report. "To this point, we’ve been expanding the old fashioned way – one new affiliate at a time. With the help of GCN and GAB we can move faster. There’s a market for intelligent, thoughtful journalism – and we’ve proven that. It’s time to replicate that success in every station across the country."

About Rebecca D. Costa
Rebecca D. Costa is an American sociobiologist and author who offers an evolutionary explanation for current events and emerging trends. A new voice in the mold of Alvin Toffler, Thomas Friedman and Malcolm Gladwell, Costa attributes modern consternation - from terrorism, crime on Wall Street, epidemic obesity and upheaval in the Middle East - to genetic imperatives. Retiring from a career in Silicon Valley, Costa spent six years researching and writing The Watchman’s Rattle: A Radical New Theory of Collapse. The success of the book in 25 countries led to a weekly nationally syndicated radio news program called The Costa Report. Costa is presently represented by Kneerim, Williams & Bloom, the Scott Meredith Literary Agency and the American Program Bureau. The Costa Report is syndicated by the Genesis Communication Network, Global American Broadcasting and VoiceAmerica.
