Next Generation Sequencing Conference Highlights: Exomes, Genomes & Transcriptomes In Clinical Diagnostics
Manchester (PRWEB UK) 25 February 2014 -- The aim of the NGS 2014 Dundee conference and workshops is to foster an international NGS user network that shares an interest in technological advances in clinical diagnostic testing, whilst also keeping informed about and contributing in other NGS application areas. NGS is being increasingly implemented in Clinical Genetics laboratories, this conference will include workshops in areas such as novel variant effect predictions, NGS data integration, data storage and archiving and other topics. The speakers will provide an overview of strategies for implementing NGS in Clinical Genetics and how it is being used in different diagnostic applications including specific gene panels. The full agenda can be viewed here: http://conference.biotexcel.com/ngs-2014-dundee/invited-speakers-agenda-2/.
This event will also show-case techniques that will soon enter the clinic, including RNA-seq, whole-genome sequencing and epigenetics. As clinical laboratories are testing different NGS platforms, it is timely to review and compare these tools.
Speakers include Dr Paul Westwood, Prof Neil Hall, Prof Geoff Barton and others.
The NGS 2014 Dundee event will have a strong emphasis on networking, giving plenty of opportunity for attendees to discuss common issues, exchange ideas and initiate collaborations. A number of international initiatives were facilitated by bioteXcel during its previous conferences. Furthermore poster submissions is free of charge with the possibility of publication in the BioDiscovery Journal, subject to our scientific committee review.
