Mexico vs. USA Tickets: Ticket Down Reduces Ticket Prices for the Friendly Match Between the United States Men's Soccer Team and Mexico at University of Phoenix Stadium
Phoenix, AZ (PRWEB) February 24, 2014 -- Ticket Down announces that they have slashed prices on tickets for the upcoming friendly match between the USA Men's Soccer Team and Mexico at the University of Phoenix Stadium in Glendale, AZ. Every team that has qualified for the World Cup this year in Brazil is competing in international friendly matchups to prepare their team for the toughest soccer tournament in the world. While most teams are competing in easier matchups than the rest, Mexico is doing the complete opposite and is competing against some of the best teams in the world including the United States and Portugal, both of which are in the ill-fated “Group of Death” at the World Cup. Mexico will take on the United States on April 2 in Glendale, Arizona.
Mexico is currently ranked as the 20th best team in the world according to Fédération Internationale de Football Association. When they complete their schedule of friendly matchups in June, they will be hoping to have enough preparation to put on the best performance of their World Cup career. The nation will be entering their 15th World Cup tournament this year and have never finished better than sixth place. They have finished in sixth twice, first in 1970 and then again in 1986, both of which are years when they hosted the World Cup.
Their opponents at the University of Phoenix Stadium on April 2 will be the United States. The American team has high hopes for the 2014 World Cup and heading into their Group D, or “Group of Death,” run. They will be forced to compete against Portugal, Germany and Ghana and will need all the strategic advantages they can get from their international friendly matchups heading into the tournament. The America hasn’t finished better than eighth place since the inaugural World Cup tournament when they finished in third place and will be looking to have a greater finish than they have had the past two World Cup tournaments when they finished 25th and 12th.
Heading into this monumental showdown between the United States and Mexico, both teams will be working on the best lineups, strategy and overall roster for the World Cup. This means that fans in attendance will be able to see all the popular stars for each nation, as well as their younger players. For Mexico, veterans like Rafael Marquez, Andres Guardado and Giovani dos Santos will likely suit up, while younger players like Oribe Peralta, Javier Aquino and Hector Moreno will also take the pitch.
For the American squad, the most popular player of all time Landon Donovan will take the field, as will Eddie Johnson and possibly, DeMarcus Beasley. The team will also send several younger players like Kyle Beckerman and Brad Evans to this showdown to see what they’ve got.
University of Phoenix Stadium is the home to the Arizona Cardinals of the National Football League and since 2007, has been home to the Fiesta Bowl game in college football. The facility opened in 2006 and has been home to many popular events including WrestleMania, World Wrestling Entertainment’s biggest event each year. The facility can set more than 78,000 fans with standing room areas and will be packed when these two North American rivals meet.
