Announcement: BluesGuitar.com Releases “T Bone Walker - Cool Blues Intro with Dominant 9th Chords - Blues Guitar Lesson”
(PRWEB) February 24, 2014 -- “One of the things I love about T Bone’s intros is that they use a lot of sliding Dominant 9th Chords,” says MacLennan. Jon demonstrates this blues in the key of Ab (A flat) as follows: first he plays an E9 chord that consists of the 7th fret on the 5th string with his 2nd finger, 4th fret of the 4th string with first finger and 3rd finger bared across the 3rd, 2nd, and first strings at the 7th fret which he arpeggiates and then frets the 13th fret of the first string with his 4th finger to make it a E13 chord which he picks twice and then does a pull off back to the 7th fret and then picks the 2nd and third strings. Next he moves the chord shape down one half step and repeats the sequence and then back up one half step and again repeats the picking sequence and then back down one half step again for a single strum of the chord. Next he moves to an Eb-aug (E flat augmented) that consists of the 6th fret of the 5th string with 3rd finger, 5th fret of the 4th string with 2nd finger and first finger bared across the 4th fret of the 3rd and 2nd strings. And finally he ends it with a cool blues lick that MacLennan says “is very reminiscent of Manish Boy by Muddy Waters.” Guitar TABs for this blues guitar lesson are available at BluesGuitar.com.
