Terence J. Rhoades, President of Mechanical Simulation Corporation, Honored with SAE International Medal of Honor
Warrendale, PA (PRWEB) February 24, 2014 -- Mr. Terence J. Rhoades, President of Mechanical Simulation Corporation, is the recipient of the 2014 SAE International Medal of Honor. Mr. Rhoades will receive his medal at the Awards and Recognition Ceremony during the SAE 2014 World Congress, which will be held April 8-10 in Detroit.
The Medal of Honor, established in 1986, is presented annually and is SAE International’s most prestigious award. The award recognizes an SAE International member for his or her unique and significant contributions to SAE International and is funded through the SAE Foundation.
Mr. Rhoades has served as President of Mechanical Simulation Corporation since 2004. Mechanical Simulation develops and distributes vehicle dynamics simulation software under the trade names CarSim, TruckSim, BikeSim, and SuspensionSim; selling these engineering tools to a diverse, global customer base of universities, OEMs, suppliers, and government agencies.
Prior to joining Mechanical Simulation, Mr. Rhoades served as a Vice-President with AVL Powertrain Engineering for three years and as the CFO of Michigan Automotive Research Corporation (MARCO) for more than 25 years. He also has helped raise venture capital for several engineering and technology companies and real estate partnerships in the Ann Arbor area. Mr. Rhoades graduated from the University of Detroit (BME) and the University of Michigan (MBA), and has been a registered Professional Engineer (P.E.) in Michigan since 1978. Mr. Rhoades has been a member of the Engineering Society of Detroit since 1993 and a member of SAE International since 1976, serving on the Governing Board of the SAE International Detroit Section since 1979 and on committees of SAE International since 1993.
Mr. Rhoades was a member of the SAE International Board of Directors from 2001 to 2004; he served on the SAE International Finance Committee from 2003 to 2010; and served the elected Treasurer of SAE International from 2005 to 2010.
