Ultra Electronics – USSI Receives a Large Order of HyperShields from Middle-East Security Forces
Columbia City, Indiana (PRWEB) February 25, 2014 -- Ultra Electronics – USSI announces today that it has received a sizable order from a Middle-East country for use of HyperShields with security forces. This is the second order in the country for units to be used in security operations.
The HyperShield is a market-first blend of carbon-fiber, tough riot shield, and the addition of Ultra Electronics’s patented HyperSpike technology. The HyperShield’s capabilities include sending clean voice messages over 500 meters, directing a short-range audio deterrent during riots, and keeping the operator out of harms way.
“The key point of HyperSpike is to save lives on both sides of the device,” said Nathanial Schueth, International Business Manager at Ultra Electronics – USSI. “HyperSpike removes much of the confusion during crowd control by broadcasting audible and more importantly, intelligible commands to recipients. Police and security forces can then determine intent and de-escalate based on the reaction and compliance of the crowd to this clear communication.”
The shield is capable of running for over 8 hours on the internal rechargeable battery, and has the ability for operators to use live voice amplification or an internal MP3 player. The internal MP3 gives operators the option of using pre-approved messages to clearly command compliance, reducing liability for domestic and international users. The HyperShield is fully tested and rated to US National Institute of Justice riot-control shield standards.
