Temperley London Raising Funds for Somerset Flood Victims
London, United Kingdom (PRWEB UK) 26 February 2014 -- Temperley is continuing the initiative with a #FLOODSUPPORT #TEMPERLEY #SALE of the current Cruise ’14 ALICE by Temperley collection at 20% off, with 50% of profits being donated to the cause.
There is also a dedicated space in Temperley's Mayfair Flagship store at 27 Bruton Street for the sale.
As a native of Somerset, internationally acclaimed designer Alice Temperley is dedicated to helping those who have been hit by the catastrophe.
Since the flooding began, thousands of people and animals in Somerset and the West Country have been displaced by the severe weather conditions, with some villages under deep water for six weeks.
"The public want to help but they just don't know how - there is so little official action and so much talk," said Temperley. "We are linking to this important community charity through our website and using all our social media power to guide people on how and where to give.”
“My 98-year-old grandfather has been displaced, along with so many of our family friends, and I want to use the international exposure of our show at London Fashion Week this weekend to get everyone talking about what is happening on our very doorstep."
At Temperley London's winter 2014 collection on Sunday, 16 February, every seat had a personal note from Alice Temperley appealing for the audience to use the hashtag #FLOODSUPPORT in order to raise awareness and get people steered into action.
The campaign has already been backed by names such as Gillian Anderson, Laura Bailey Bella Freud, Natalie Massanet, Liberty Ross, Jade Parfitt, Charlotte Tillbury, and Temperley London is asking the public to social media their message of support with the hashtags.
