First 10 Minted Boxes of 2014 Silver Eagles By US Mint Acquired By Gainesville Coins
Lutz, FL (PRWEB) February 26, 2014 -- Gainesville Coins has announced that the first shipment of 2014 American Silver Eagles it received from the U.S. West Point Mint included ten boxes marked with the serial numbers 00001 through 00010. As early production Silver Eagles are sought after by collectors, Gainesville Coins has decided to offer each of these ten mint-sealed boxes to the public unopened.
Brett Frierson, COO of Gainesville Coins, said “Every January we receive thousands of Silver Eagles to meet demand for the new mintage year. Luckily, a sharp eye in the vault noticed these rare, low serial number boxes and pulled them aside before they were opened.”
These official U.S. Mint boxes are still sealed with white West Point Mint security straps, and bear the stock tracking label “2014 AE Silver Bullion” with tracking bar code and serial number. The same serial number has been written in permanent marker on the lid of the box by a West Point Mint employee. Each box contains 500 one ounce 2014 American Silver Eagle bullion coins, packed in twenty five 20-coin tubes.
Web Content Manager Daniel Kedem remarked “The American Silver Eagle is historically one of our best sellers, and this year doesn't seem to be any different. When we discovered we had box numbers 1 through 10, we knew we had something special.”
The American Silver Eagle is the official silver bullion coin of the United States of America, and the purity and weight of each coin is backed by the full faith and credit of the United States government. The U.S. Mint sales of the Silver Eagle set an all-time record in 2013, with over 42 million coins sold.
