Lifestyle Medicine 2014 Expected to Break Attendance Record as the Treat the Cause Movement Grows
Altamonte Springs, FL (PRWEB) February 26, 2014 -- The American College of Lifestyle Medicine (ACLM) will host its fourth annual conference October 19 – 22, 2014, at the Hyatt Regency Mission Bay Hotel in San Diego, California.
After experiencing year-over-year attendance growth of more than 200 percent at its conference last year, ACLM is anticipating a sell-out crowd of more than 400 people to attend this year's event.
The keynote speakers for the conference, entitled Treat the Cause: Evidence Based Practice, represent the world's leading authorities in the field of Lifestyle Medicine.
The conference will also feature powerful new documentaries, research posters, networking with industry leaders, a trade show pavilion, a membership meeting with a state of the industry report, and world renowned regional and international experts who will present the state of the science and the powerful rationale for lifestyle medicine.
“The line-up of speakers that have committed to speaking at our conference this year is truly impressive,” comments Mark Faries, PhD, the conference chairperson for Lifestyle Medicine 2014. “We've featured great speakers in past years, but the group of thought leaders that we've attracted for this year's event are absolutely among the best and brightest in the field of lifestyle medicine.”
Confirmed keynote speakers to date include:
T. Colin Campbell, PhD, Jacob Gould Schurman Professor Emeritus of Nutritional Biochemistry, Cornell University, who will address Nutrition as a Medical Science.
Dean Ornish, MD, Founder, Preventive Medicine Research Institute, who will present on The Power of Lifestyle Changes, Social Networks, and Love.
Joel Fuhrman, MD, Research Director, Nutritional Research Foundation, who will speak about Dietary Protocols to Maximize Disease Reversal.

David Katz, MD, MPH, Founding Director of Yale University's Prevention Research Center, who will explore Lifestyle Medicine: The Covariance of Proposition & Preposition.
ACLM represents a body of physicians, health care professionals and organizations that believe that to change the current chronic disease epidemic and the associated costs we must “treat the cause.” Almost 80% of chronic disease is directly related to lifestyle choices and can be prevented and/or reversed through following lifestyle medicine principles. Fully implemented, lifestyle medicine can save up to 80% of the costs of chronic disease, thereby significantly decreasing the unsustainable rapid rise in health care costs. ACLM aims to educate the nation about “treat the cause” healthcare, which derives from evidence-based studies, and does not have the risks and unwanted side effects of much of traditional care.
Physicians, health care professionals, prominent leaders in lifestyle medicine, supporting organizations, press, politicians, leadership volunteers from across the world and members of the general public interested in making a difference in their health and the health of others are expected to attend Lifestyle Medicine 2014 in San Diego this autumn.
A number of sponsorship opportunities exist for organizations who would like to support the conference. Involvement with the Lifestyle Medicine 2014 event will put sponsors in the position of innovators and benefactors of the growing lifestyle medicine movement, not just in the United States, but around the world.
Supporting partners of the conference include Loma Linda University, The Institute of Lifestyle Medicine, The European Society of Lifestyle Medicine, and, The American College of Preventive Medicine.
