To qualify for participation in the world finals, teams have already competed in local university competitions, national competitions, and on-line screening. This year's World Final host 14 teams from 13 different countries including Egypt, Estonia, France, India, Indonesia, Jordan, Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Spain, Switzerland, Tunisia, United Arab Emirates, the United States that were selected from a field of over 170 teams.

University Mobile Challenge’s pitch competition is open to the public and will take place 25 February 2014 at Backyard, an open environment located at Fira Montjuic. The competition will begin promptly at 0930.
